Topic: A BLESSED INCOME
Text : Psalms 37: 16-20
16: A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17: For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18: The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19: They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20: But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
Money goes by the way it comes, how do I mean? When you earn it in a honest way, you have value for what your earn, but when it is earned in a dishonest manner of course, you will definitely not get the value. You must have seen people who appear rich but have much trouble than money can buy, this is not to mean that those who have honest gain do not have challenges, it simply means dishonest gain attracts trouble to whoever earns it.
When you earn $1,000 and you don’t have emergencies, no unplanned expenses, you don’t have to rush someone to hospital or unwarranted damages of assets you will enjoy your income than a man who earns $10,000 in a dishonest way and he needs to pay for surgery of a loved one, or he is always having major breakdown of assets.
Understand that spirits follow money, either good or bad, Jesus was clear about this in Matthew 6:24: No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). He reversed to it as mammon. Riches or income from fraud, theft, shabby deals come with the spirit of waste, you will end up not being able to account for it.
Some people say, ‘ I am not fraudulent ‘, it is important you know that the gift you receive from a fraudulent man will bring curse rather blessings, don’t partake in sharing cursed income.
The Psalmist in our text speaking by the Spirit of the Lord, ‘ a little that the righteous has is better that the riches of the wicked ‘, this is because the little of the righteous has is blessed by the Lord, it is like Jesus taking 5 loaves of bread, and 2 fishes to feed 5 thousand people and there were leftovers, that is how God blesses the income of the righteous.
In verse 19 the Psalmist speaking by the Spirit of the Lord said this about the righteous:
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. That is interesting, what a scripture? Ensure you fraud no one, don’t partake in ungodly income, God will bless your income.
