Prevailing Voice Daily 4th March

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
4th March
Topic: THE EFFECT OF HIS PRESENCE
Text : Acts 4:13
13: Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
When child is enrolled in a school impact and effect of learning is expected to been seen in Him after sometime, learning is expected to affect his reasoning and way of life, it is expected to improve his standard of living, and to a large extent, his comportment, Every child of God is expected to reflect the presence of God. Our going to church is not suppose to be a routine activity, or weekly ritual but an encounter with the saviour.
Every service, every bible study, every prayer meeting, praise worship service is expected to release God’s presence on our lives, if we remain unchanged, untransformed, unsaved then, the purpose of gathering in God’s name is defeated. It is amazing that some pastors now organize program that only entertain their congregation without inspiring them, comedians now mount pulpits to crack jokes on the holy alter of God, and in most cases lies are inevitable in those jokes, no wonder we have multitudes in church but few believers living the life of Christ.
God’s Presence is what changes a sinner to saint, a miserable person to a prosperous man, it makes a nobody somebody. From our passage, they perceived that Peter and John were not schooled, unlearned, but God’s presence was visible upon them. God’s hand was on them, they perceived that they have been with Jesus. Their lives show clearly that they have spent time with Jesus. They didn’t need announcement or stickers to show that they are Christians, it was obvious on them that they had been with Jesus.
When you see a praying man or woman you will know, permit me to share this; in my secondary school days I did lead prayer session on the assembly ground, they were days I pray well before leaving home, 1 hour, 2 hours sometimes, after a while my prayer life started dropping, one morning after assembly session, a friend of mine who wasn’t even born again walked up to me and said this, ‘ your prayer is not as hot as before ‘, that statement hit me to my spirit, I knew he was right, I had begun to lose touch with His Presence, I knew I have to go back to what I used to do.
When we stay with God, there is a release of His presence on our lives, it will be obvious on us, anywhere will go, one Alhaja ( a Muslim woman who has been to hajj ) once told me, ‘ if you don’t know we know, God’s hand is upon you ‘. His presence must and should be seen upon your life, that is a sign that you are His. It is therefore important that you draw His presence from your closet, quiet time, church service, prayer meeting. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord make me a carrier of your presence.
