Topic : EXTRAVAGANT PRAISE
Text : 2Samuel 6:11-23
KJV:And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
KJV:So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 2Samuel 6: 14,15.
David knew how to do it right with God when it comes to praise, no wonder God called him a man after His heart, what many of us will term shameful like Michal, was what he did to praise the Lord, ‘….And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!’ 2 Samuel 6: 20. Imagine yourself dancing before crowd publicly to the point of pulling off your clothe, this is not within church auditorium. Oh how conventional do we carry ourselves even in church?
How often do you sing praises in work place even during break? they told you it’s a corporate environment, it’s not church, while others play their worldly music, you need to understand that songs invoke spirits, immoral songs have capacity to invoke immoral spirits, no wonder there is a feel of immorality everywhere, since Christians have stopped singing praises in public places to invoke God’s Spirit. When l was a banker, no one was able to stop me from singing praises instead they rather join me, which song do we hear everywhere now? songs like ‘iranu abacha….’ no wonder we see ‘iranu abacha’ (meaning rubbish) these are songs our youths are expose to, many of them can’t sing any hymn, after Sunday service no quality praise session, what’s their ringing tone? ‘reverse babyooo pull over….’ or ‘shaki bobobo…’ or ‘am going crazy tonight…’
When we declare God’s praises everywhere, we invoke His Spirit, people’s heart will be soften for God, Holy Spirit will instill God’s fear in their heart, salvation will be easy beloved, but howbeit? we are closing our mouth, it’s now abnormal to sing praises on the road, even when you feel like, you caution yourself. It’s not abnormal beloved, it’s deception of the devil, no one could separate me from praises as a banker, even customers know me for that, my boss told me one day ‘the day you will fall under anointing here, nobody will carry you’, he knew my worship is entering the realm of anointing even in the office. Let’s get back to praising God everywhere, it’s one way to invoke His Spirit everywhere. DO HAVE A PRAISEFUL WEEK.
