Topic: REVELATIONS FROM PSALMS 1…part 2.
Text: Psalms 1:1
1: Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] Amplified.
The Psalmist speaking by the Spirit of God gave insight into what authenticates and guarantees the prosperity of a man, I explained the first criterion in part 1.
From our passage we deduce ..nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, some people believe they have to be unfaithful, or falsify figures before they can make it in life. They see all prosperous fellows as fraudsters, they don’t believe one can make it without stealing.
The truth is that God only bless righteous deals, you can make money through dubious means but certainly your prosperity is not from God. Someone wants to ask if there any prosperity that comes from the devil? I will answer the question this way; Jesus talked about Mammon Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). Amplified.
Jesus refered to that as deceitful riches, it will appear the person is making money but it is deceitful, it comes through unfaithfulness, unrighteousness, lies, dubious means, illegal businesses, illegal deals, like drugs trafficking, human trafficking, engaging in transactions that do not glorify God.
Deceitful riches has ruined many people’s lives, it comes with fear, pains, sleepless night, guilty conscience, so, the Psalmist by the spirit of God said; Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Anyone that will be blessed must not stand in the way of sinners, making money in a sinful way brings deceitful riches, but it doesn’t come without sorrow.
You can make money legitimately, by righteous means you can make money, you don’t have to steal, dupe, kill, the spirit behind fraud is destructive. Work hard, pray well and the Lord will make you prosperous. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, help me not to walk in the way of sinners in the name of Jesus.
