Topic: … ‘ AS I WAS WITH MOSES ‘
Text : Joshua 1: 5
5: There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Moses’ relationship with God was superb to the extend that God could use it to boost Joshua’s faith in him.
You see when you study the bible always give attention to statements from God and Jesus, they’ve got a lot to deliver. God could have just told Joshua ‘ I will be with you ‘, simple, but he needed to let Joshua know the magnitude of his presence that will be with him.
Joshua had followed Moses, he had seen the Miracles of God through Moses, Joshua had seen awesome acts of God manifested through the hands of Moses.
I also expected God to say ‘ more than I was with Moses, I will be with you ‘, but he was satisfied with his relationship and presence with Moses. No man could have had it better than that, because he already lavished his presence on Moses.
How do I know? Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Deuteronomy 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.
11: [None equal to him] in all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land.
How did Moses get to that point? He had a strong passion for God, his heart desired God than any other thing. Let me show something: Exodus 33:12 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. This is a prayer point from a genuine heart willing to know the Lord.
Look at verse 15: Then Moses said, “If you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place. NLT. This was after God responded in verse 14: And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. New Living Translation gives it a clear interpretation: The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.”
If God’s presence is with us, everything will be fine, the struggles, the pains, the challenges, the problems around can’t stand God’s presence. Desire God’s presence like Moses and everything will be fine. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord I need your presence like never before.
