Text: Isaiah 64:8
8: But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
The clay in the hand of the potter has no choice than to blend to the shape the potter desires to shape it, but God did not make us as robots, without emotions and willpower. He didn’t make us to control us or compel his will on us, he allows us to express our will and desires.
What God expects from us is obedience; submitting our wills for his, our plans for his. Every man has the privilege to become whatever he wants, but God expects us to submit ourselves for his use. Just as we have expectations for our children, God has expectations for us. He has prepared a glorious destiny for each of us.
Many people think God is mindless of their careers, they think he is only interested in the salvation of their soul and preparation of their soul for heaven, that isn’t true. There is an assignment he wants you to carry out on this earth.
He allows us to make our choices, even Jesus wasn’t compel to die, he humbly submitted to the will of the father.
God was making something out of father Abraham, but both him and Sarah couldn’t wait for the promise, in their attempt to work things out for themselves they gave birth to Ishmael, the father of all terrorists in the world today, they left problem for generations yet unborn to suffer today. How do I know? Genesis 16:12
And he [Ishmael] will be as a wild ass among men; his hand will be against every man and every man’s hand against him, and he will live to the east and on the borders of all his kinsmen. Amplified.
Though God doesn’t force any man to do his will, there are always consequences for falling out of God’s will for one’s life.
The world can never recover from the error of father Abraham. Abraham tried to correct his errors but it was too late: Genesis 25:5.And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6: But to the sons of his concubines [Hagar and Keturah] Abraham gave gifts, and while he was still living he sent them to the east country, away from Isaac his son [of promise].
Every step outside God’s plan will attractive severe punishment, the battle in mid-east was a product of Abraham’s error, the children of the east are the Arabs, they are descendants of Abraham also. You see many people wonder why God permits evil in the world, why will God allow the killings in Gaza? The answer is simple; it isn’t God it is the error of men. God made everything good, but men’s error and inability to submit to the will of God brought the world to where it is today.
God wants you to submit to his will but, he won’t compel you, if you submit to his will he will make the best out of your life, but if you choose to your own way, there might be severe consequences. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, help me to submit to your will in Jesus name.
