PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
20th May, 2024.
Topic: THIS SAME ATTITUDE
Text: Philippians 2;4,5.

4: Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
5: You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

If Jesus was just to die and resurrect to save humanity he needn’t to live up to 33 years, but he needed to show us God’s attitude while we live here on earth. It’s not only the crucifixion that was his assignment, but also an exemplary life to show us what God expects from us.

If you are a good student of the bible you will observe that Christ is careful about the souls of men. The attitude and sermons of Christ point to soul winning. His messages weren’t centred on material things, earthly things, rather eternal things.

His attitude points towards redemption, salvation, and holiness, he actions were basically to prepare us for the kingdom of God.

Any time Jesus sees anyone he watches out for the salvation of the soul of that individual. He neither assesses one’s financial worth nor academic qualifications. Not his connections nor his intelligence, rather the state of his soul.

Verse 5 of our passage commands us to imitate Christ: You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. NLT.

God allowed Jesus to live up to 33 years to show and teach us how to live, we also MUST have the same attitude. Let’s be mindful of the salvation of the soul of everyone that comes our way.

God has not changed his standard, ‘ no sinner will reign with him ‘, people spend a lot on their children and never care about their salvation, you want them to be great achievers in this world, but you aren’t preparing them for the world beyond, that’s dangerous beloved.

We send money to our relatives, but we aren’t mindful of their salvation, that’s risky.

Christ’s attitude is connecting men to God, reconciling them with God. The wealth of this world, the academic qualifications we got, our worth on this earth all become irrelevant when we die.

As you meet people each day, what’s your desire for them? Hell is filled with people who couldn’t receive salvation before they died, how do I know?

1, The rich in hell. Luke 16:24
The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’ NLT

2, I once lived in a compound with a man who died suddenly, he did engage me with long gists, suddenly, he died. After about 2 weeks of his death I had a revelation: I saw him and asked me him, ‘ Baba, where have you been? He responded by saying, ‘ the place is very dark and very hot ‘. Obviously, we lost him to hell.

We can’t afford to lose any other person to hell. God is watching out for people with ‘ Christ like attitude ‘, who will be conscious of the salvation of the souls of men and not their worth and wealth.

May you not disappoint God.
