Topic : RECIPROCATING HIS LOVE.
Text : Psalms 63:2-8.
3: Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
4: I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
5: You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.
7: Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.
8: I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. NLT.
The love of our maker towards us is greater than that of a father towards his children. The Psalmist attested to the fact that God’s love is greater than live itself, why did he say so? He imagined how his love could write off the sins of a man. Look at this Psalms 65:3 Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.
Many people died as consequences for their sins, they lost the privilege of living, but through his love we are counted worthy to be among the living, that’s what he meant by ‘ your loving kindness is better than life itself ‘.
The Psalmist, king David, was a deep thinker, he was thoughtful enough to reciprocate God’s love towards him. I see the David saying, ‘ how can I pay him for all he has done for me? Why am I so blessed? why does he care so much about me? ‘ Does it mean the Psalmist had all he wanted? The answer is NO, but he had a grateful heart.
In his quest to reciprocate God’s love towards, him look at what he said in verse 4
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. That’s the best a man can do for God, praising him, serving him, dedication to him, lifting up holy hands in prayer and worship.
Serving God as long as we live, dedicating our lives to him. Abstaining from sin is a way of reciprocating his love, doing his will, obeying his commands and living right. God bless you.
Prayer.
* I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
