Topic: CONSEQUENCES OF INACTION.
(WHY SIT WE HERE? part 2)
Text: Matthew 25: 25-28.
25: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26: His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28: Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
Our text is a parable of Jesus, the master represent God why those given talents represent all human beings. God has given us some talents, gifts, opportunities, privileges, knowledge, wealth, time, resources to utilize and be productive.
Many people did not know that God frowns at fruitlessness. See the dictionary meanings given to fruitlessness:
1, A lack of creative imagination.
2, The quality of yielding nothing of value.
God expects every human being to be fruitful and productive. There is no one who is not given what he or she needs to be productive, the problem is inaction, not willing to do anything or being discouraged to do something because of challenges.
The first step in conquering your fear is making the first move, take action, do something. Engage yourself in the things you enjoy doing or you can do best.
If you do not have adequate knowledge about what you want to do, seek knowledge.
Believe in yourself, the idea of seeing other people better, privileged, blessed, and at advantage more than you is inferiority complex. There is nothing wrong with you, you’re not less privileged.
Can I shock you? It’s more dangerous to feel less privileged in your mind than in the body. A physically challenged person who is not feeling less privileged in his mind will do better than a someone who is physically upright but feels less privileged in his mind.
The man in our text felt less privileged in his mind, he felt he couldn’t make it so he buried his talent, that’s the picture of many people, they major at the disadvantage factors around them, they complain of no one ready to assist, they complain of the environment they live, but certainly in all of these negative factors there will be at least one advantage, use that advantage to come out of adversity.
That man was given one talent, the master knew that he could make it with just that talent, you may have only one privilege, resource, opportunity, knowledge, insight, inspiration that’s enough to turn things around just take action. There are grave consequences for inaction.
Take action.
Do something that will move your life forward.
Dare your challenges.
Rise up and stand right.
Believe in yourself, there is nothing wrong with you.
You can make it and you will make it.
In fact, God expects you to make it.
He is committed to giving you the strength to make it. Be courageous. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I receive grace to make it in Jesus name.
