PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
6th January, 2022.
Topic: THE MASTER KEY FOR 2023.. part 2
Text: Isaiah 38:1-5.

1: In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2: Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,
3: And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4: Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
5: Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

What exactly does God watch out for in the lives of believers? Why do we need to find answers to this question? It’s simply because a lot of people have been misguided and misinformed. Erroneous teachings about life have led many to perplexity.

From our text king Hezekiah was able to change the mind of God by proving a point and got answer to his request. By simply saying, ‘ Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight ‘.

You wouldn’t know the gravity of what Hezekiah said if you don’t know the liberty kings enjoy in bible days. It wasn’t an era of democracy, it was a time the king exercises authority and dominion over is subjects and his domain.

Hezekiah was at liberty to do anything he liked. Take a look at Solomon; his wives and concubines are up one thousand, that means if Solomon was picking a lady per day, it would have taken him three years to do that.

That was an era when kings were taking people’s wives and properties, when kings kill at will and no one could sue them, the kings in those days take preeminence over everything, and that was when Hezekiah could say to God, ‘ Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee … ‘ and God couldn’t deny him his request.

Hezekiah walked with God before he fell sick in a manner that God was pleased with him, he had no skeleton in his cupboard, no secret sin, God could affirm that he pleased him and that made him to influence God’s decision about his of death.

Our walk with God will go a long way to attract God’s hand upon our lives, and make us enjoy a prosperous year.

Your commitment to pleasing God from the beginning of the is key to entering your desired haven. God is committed to blessing us this year but we must be committed to pleasing him. God bless you.

PRAYER.
* Lord help me to be committed to pleasing you in Jesus name.
