Topic: THE MYSTERY OF HIS BIRTH ..Part 4.
Text: Psalms 8:3-6.
3: When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5: For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6: Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.
Just as no man wants his children to live in fear and controlled by circumstances, in like mannar God didn’t make man without dominion to rule his world.
Of all creatures man is the most privileged and blessed, the fact that he is made in the image and likeness of God entitles him to exercise dominion.
God was explicit in Genesis 1: 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
God delegated authority to Adam but he lost it because of the disobedience, and man was exposed to evil and every other negative experience of life, first to sin, then to sickness, disasters, pestilence, and death, and God willing to restore man to his complete state sent Jesus who was born in the same process as Adam.
The reason the bible refers to him as the second Adam is because he is to restore everything Adam lost to sin, in Philippians 2:9: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.
The dominion we lost in Adam is restored through Jesus and that’s the reason the Psalmist wondered why God did so much for man above every other creature.
Man lost dominion yet God ensure he got it back, our dominion is restored through Christ, we are not to be overcomed by the things we are going. Man is meant to conquer his challenges and difficulties, the authority is restored through Christ, and we got all it takes to overcome. God bless you.
