Topic: THE DECEPTION AND DESTRUCTION OF SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Text: Philippians 3:4-6.
4: though I could have confidence in my own effort if anyone could. Indeed, if others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!
5: I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.
6: I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.
Evaluating one’s life by oneself doesn’t give accurate description of who one is. Your assessment based on your terms won’t give best description about you.
Since ignorance is not an excuse in law wrong description or assessment of one’s life will among to deception and destruction.
God spoke expressly through Prophet Hosea in Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Thinking you are on the right path in life is deceptive and destructive, it’s important you have basic knowledge of what is expected of you to enjoy eternity with God. Apostle Paul was at the state of righteousness until he had the revelation of Christ.
Prophet Isaiah didn’t know how terrible his life was until there was a revelation; that was the encounter that put his life on the right course.
Delusion has sent many people to hell, and many to the level they don’t want to be. When God reveals yourself to you, you will find out your level, and God is commitment to revealing our state if we are committed to seek him.
You need Revelation for Transformation so that you will not be labouring on wrong course. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, stop me by all means if I am going the wrong way.
* Grant me revelation for transformation in Jesus name.
