Topic: STRENGTH FOR THE INNER MAN…part 2.
Text: Ephesians 3:16.
16: That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. KJV
The state of your inner man determines your feelings. When the inner man does not feel good you don’t feel good. Have you not observed that sometimes you just feel down for no reason? There are days no one Hurts you, nothing hurts you, you are not just happy; that feeling is emanating from your inner man.
The state of your inner man tells on everything you do, because that’s your real self, your body is just clothing to the inner man. Let me take you farther; there are times you talk to yourself, that’s conversation with the inner man, some people call it ‘spirit man’.
Why is this teaching necessary? It is simply because if you work on yourself from within you will feel good emotionally and physically. Why are people discouraged? What leads to discouragement? When your inner man is wearied with thoughts of unpleasant things.
Feeding your inner with conversations or thoughts of unpleasant events will get you wearied.
To get yourself happy is easy, just keep thinking on good things that have happened to you, remembering negative experiences will always bring you down. Always remind yourself of good things, keep pleasant memories alive.
The state of your inner man determines whether you will take steps to improve your life or not.
* Discouragement is weariness to your inner man.
* A discouraged man can’t discover new opportunities.
Discouragement is a state of the inner man, and it tells on your endeavors. You can’t do well in business, life, ministry, marriage if you are discouraged. In fact, a discouraged man can’t do well in anything.
* One of the greatest harm you can do to yourself is to allow discouragement to set into your inner man.
In Joshua chapter 1 God warned Joshua against discouragement in 3 verses:
Verse 6; Be strong and courageous
Verse 7; Be strong and courageous. Look at verse 9 it will interest you; This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” NLT.
Can I shock you? It’s difficult to help a discouraged man, even when God is ready for him he won’t be set for a change. Strengthen your inner man by remembering good things you have achieved in the past and believe you will achieve more. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I refuse to be discouraged.
* I receive strength for my inner man in Jesus name.
