Topic: CONNECTED TO BLESSINGS.
Text: Ephesians 3:6
6: And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus. NLT.
Many people wonder how the promises in the bible are applicable to them. They feel it is for the Jews; the children of Israel.
If you don’t know the promises in the bible are for you you won’t be able to claim them confidently. Reading the bible like it is meant for some people won’t make you get the best from it.
The bible is the book of life, it contains God’s instructions, promises of blessings to humanity and punishment of sins to those who fail to believe it.
Our passage is very explicit, New Living Translation helps to express it in clear terms. Look at it here again; And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.
The promises are both for the Gentiles and the Jews. The Jewish People, the Israelites trace their origin to Abraham, who established the belief that there is only one God. It was Abraham God gave the promise and to his children, Jews. Simply put, Gentiles are not Jewish. They are people who cannot trace their familial line back to one of the 12 tribes of Israel. If you are not an Israelite you are a Gentile.
Abrahamic covenant and blessings were for him and his children but as we come to Christ we became partakers of the same promises and blessings.
In Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he stated in clear terms that both the Gentiles; those of us who are not Israelites but have been saved by the blood of Jesus, and the Jews who are related by blood to Abraham share equally in the riches of God. Both of us enjoy the same promises of blessings.
What does this mean? It means I can claim God’s promises boldly and experience them as stated in the bible though it wasn’t originally said to me.
Praying the scriptures makes prayer answered speedily, praying God’s word back to him is reminding him of the covenant he made with us through Abraham.
Look for scriptures that are applicable to your situation and pray with them and you will see the goodness of the Lord. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I claim your promises for my life by faith, let them come to pass in my life in the name of Jesus.
