Topic: REVELATION FOR TRANSFORMATION. Part 6.
Text: Isaiah 6:5.
5: Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6: Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Isaiah’s transformation began with revelation and his response to the revelation. He thought he was standing right with God until the revelation was shown to him.
The revelation was meant to bring about transformation just as this revelational teaching is meant to effect transformation.
After discovering his terrible state according to his confession, let’s analyse the process of his transformation; look at verses 6 and 7.
6: Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
7: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Take note of the first statement in verse 6 ‘ then flew one of the Seraphims ‘, that’s divine visitation. The Seraphim was holding a live coal in his hand, that’s a burning fire for revival. It was a purifying fire from sin meant to burn the passion for sin in his life.
Isaiah had lost it, but God wouldn’t want him to perish so he sent the revival fire first to purify his life and second to set him on fire again.
Let me press further by explaining what Isaiah meant when he said, ‘ woe is me, for I am undone ‘, it means he was partially done, his Christian life was half done and by no means can he be acceptable to God in that manner. Can I shock you? That’s the state of many Christians today ‘ UNDONE ‘, that’s the reason people don’t see the difference between Christians and unbelievers.
Have you heard some Christians said, ‘ we all are sinners ‘? Then the question is how are you a Christian if you are still a sinner?
An undone Christian still have a particular sin he or she nurses, an undone Christian can’t prevail over the desires of his flesh, many undone Christian men still battle with lust for other women other than their wives. Any Christian who still tell lies is undone.
Why did the Seraphim take a live (burning) coal and put it on his tongue? It is simply because it takes fire to be done. You see one thing about revelation is that you will discover your true state anytime you have it, so Isaiah knew that his problem is the fact that he was undone and he got a live coal, a burning coal to get him done.
This is what God is set to do to everyone who will response positively. He is ready to get you done and put you on fire again. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, I need a live coal from your alter to get my life done.
* Set me on fire again in Jesus name.
