20: that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. NLT.
Our passage contains an undiscovered mystery, first of all let me stress that the Bible is not exaggerated, how do I know? All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16.
Paul was praying that Christians understand the incredible greatness of God’s power towards them, it is not just for them to know there is power but also to understand the greatness of that power.
Why was Paul praying for them in that manner? He knew that many Christians are not conscious of the fact that they are powerful, some live in fear, some don’t know how to exercise the power they are given. So, Paul said, ‘ .. that you may understand the incredible greatness of God’s power towards us ‘.
He wanted them to understand the kind of power they had so he said, ” this is the same mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead …’, Paul was talking of the power of resurrection, he meant what you inherit is not less than what was demonstrated in Christ. He wanted them to know that they have the kind of power Christ has.
We are not weak people, great power resides in us, we have to explore it, the power is given us to silence the devil and his host.
Look at this: Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. We’ve power over all the power of darkness.
Nothing is meant to overcome you, nothing should bring you down, nothing is strong enough to overpower us. Incredible power is released into our lives to enable us overcome what comes our way.
Say to yourself, ‘ I have what it takes to overcome whatever comes my way ‘. God bless you.
* Lord, demonstrate your power in my life in Jesus name.
