Topic: COUNSELS TO THE EPHESIANS part 11.
Text: 1: 16,17.
16: I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly,
17: asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. NLT.
After hearing of their strong faith in verse 15, Apostle Paul seized not to give thanks to God, why? Because that’s what he was watching out for in their lives.
Paul felt fulfilled when he heard of their strong faith; that’s what your pastor should watch out for in you not material possession. Why was Paul’s reason for thanking God justified? Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. He knew that with their faith they will please God.
As I go through the letters of Apostle Paul to his converts I discovered that he was a detailed and diligent preacher of the gospel. He didn’t stop at thanking God for their faith; he went further to pray constantly for them.
Let’s analyse his prayer point for the Christians at Ephesus; verse 17: asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. This is deep; I see Paul saying, ” now that you’ve got strong faith, my sincere prayer for you is that God grant you spiritual wisdom and insight to grow in the knowledge of him.
Apostle Paul desired to see them grow in the Lord, their spiritual growth was paramount to him. Spiritual growth should be every Christian’s desire. Desiring to know more of God. That was the desire of Paul for himself, how do I know? Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. God bless you.

* Help me to know you Lord and the power of your resurrection in Jesus name.
