PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
9th April, 2022.
Topic: WHY WILL HE ALLOW ME SEE ANOTHER YEAR?
Text: Luke 13:6-9.

6: Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.
7: Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’
8: And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. NLT.

As I was approaching 5th of April (my birthday) this year the question that came to my spirit-man is this; WHY WILL HE ALLOW ME SEE ANOTHER YEAR?

This is a question you must seek answer to if you must fulfill your destiny. We wake up to see the dawn of each day as if we have the right to live, many people live like they will always live.

The truth is that no one has right to live, we are only privileged to see the light of each at the Creator’s mercy, he is the one who weakens us every night and wakes us up each morning. And if he permits us to live there is certainly a purpose for it.

Our passage is a parable of Jesus; before I analyse the parable permit me to say this: what God considers as long life is the time long enough for a man to fulfill his purpose on Earth. For Jesus it was just 33 years.

Many times we mourn people who have fulfilled their purpose on Earth and had gone into glory, mourn people who ought to mourn for us because they have already crossed to glory while we are still struggling.

Many years ago a brother passed on to glory via fatal accident in our ministry; we prayed seriously for him to come back, Bro. Peter Salau was precious to us, he never came back, a day later; the Lord opened my eyes I saw in him glory; he has completed his assignment.

For those us who are living there are assignments for us to carry out, there is a purpose for our lives, we are meant to serve the will of the creator, we are meant to bear fruit unto righteousness.

Serving God with our lives in righteousness and holiness puts us at the centre of his will, winning souls to his kingdom, bearing fruit, making impacts, touching lives, lifting men up through the grace we have received.

Why will he allow me see another year? It is simply because he knows I will still be useful for him, I can’t die unto I am done doing what he wants me to do. Positioning myself in serving his purpose is securing my life from untimely death. Many people don’t know what it means to be devoted to God; it simply means being useful to him, and as long as you are useful to him on Earth he won’t allow anything to cut your life short.

For those believers who left early, they are done with their assignments. If they died in righteousness they are not mourning but rejoicing.

For sinners who have not surrender to their maker God is giving them privilege to do so. Look at verses 8 and 9:
8: “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.
9: If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”

Leaving us for another year to make our lives right, another year to serve his purpose, another year to be a blessing to others. What will you make of your life?

PRAYER.
* Help me Lord to fulfill my purpose in life in Jesus name.
