Topic: HOW TO HEAR GOD….Part 4
Text: Revelation 4:1KJV
1 After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I heard was, as it were, of a trumpet talking with me, which said, “Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.”
In part three, we discussed that God speaks in the atmosphere of peace and quietness. Today we want consider another conducive atmosphere for God to speak. I pray the Holy Spirit of God will expand his words in your heart in Jesus Name.
The Atmosphere of Prayer: We did established that God speaks when we create the right atmosphere for him. One important atmosphere for God to speak is the atmosphere of prayer. Prayer is a medium of communication with God and so when we pray its important to get a feedback from our Father. However, when we pray, we often tend to table before God all our requests and move on, we most times don’t wait for a feedback from God pertaining our prayer requests. God loves to speak back to us when we pray and so it’s important we allow God to speak when we pray.
However, it possible to be in the atmosphere of prayer and yet God will not speak, because certain things are important when we pray. And so to maximize the atmosphere of prayer viz aviz hearing God the following are important:
* Dont give room for distraction in the place of prayer, ensure you concentrate and be attentive to be able to hear God speaks. When you are distracted, you certainly wont attract God’s attention and may not hear him even if he speaks
* Wait patiently on God to hear from him, give him time to respond to your request and to give you direction, dont rush out of his presence in the place of prayer.
* Be expectant to hear God when you pray. Have a mindset that God must speak to you when you pray, be eager, be ready and be thirsty to hear God speaks in the place of prayer. Be resolute like Jacob that you will not leave the presence of God except you hear him.
* Ensure your prayer touch God. When you get God’s attention in the place of prayer, when your prayer touch God, he will speak. Blind Bartimaeus cried out in the midst of the multitude Jesus thou son of David, have mercy on me. His cry touched Jesus such that Jesus stood still and spoke that blind Bartimaeus be called upon. At the end blind Bartimaeus received his sight
Beloved, if you so desire to hear God speaks, create the right atmosphere for him, he surely will speak to you. God bless you
