PREVAILING VOICE DAILY

Topic: COUNSELS TO THE EPHESIANS. Part 2.
Text: Ephesians 1: 4 & 5.
4: Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
5: God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. NLT.
Always bear in mind that this epistle was written to the faithful in Christ Jesus. Verses 4 and 5 buttress some salient points. In verse 4; He chose us in Christ to be holy.
The fact that he chose us makes us a unique people no wonder 1 Peter 2:9 says; But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
Many people take the fact that they are chosen for granted. Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Please note that the best thing that can happen to you is that God should choose you. Let me come out this way; imagine the president of your country choosing you for a particular office, you feel honoured.
When God chose us we became most privileged people, most favoured, most honoured. Can I shock you? When he chose us we are rated higher that the angels and spirits.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE CHOSEN?
1 Corinthians 12:1 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. We are saved by the Holy Ghost not because we heard powerful messages, not even because we are born into Christian families, it is God who chose us; the Holy Spirit arrested our heart to come to him.
A lot of people have heard powerful messages yet they are not saved, still living in sin.
So when Apostle Paul said, ‘ he has chosen us in Christ ‘, he meant the privilege we have above others that makes us chosen people and in 1 Peter 2:9 there is further information about what God did for us; a chosen generation, a royal priesthood (kingship and priesthood), a holy nation, a peculiar people. New Living Translations refers to us as God’s very own possession.
WHY IS THIS DETAILS IMPORTANT?
Many Christians do not know who they are, it is not money that defines us, not material things, not fame. This is how God sees us, Amplified version refers to us as God’s own purchased, special people.
He chose us before the foundation of the world and that gives us right to enjoying all spiritual blessings. God bless you.
* Grace to remain chosen Lord grant unto me in Jesus name.
