Text: Ephesians 1: 1,3,4.
1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Studying the scriptures makes us what God wants us to be. In fact, we can’t function at our best without living by the scriptures.
Apostle Paul was a great preacher, teacher, counselor who had converts in every city he preached the gospel, and he was committed to seeing them grow in Christ even while he was in prison. To ensure their faith is unwavering in Christ he did write epistle instructing them on how they should run the Christian race.
Look at verse 1 of the letter he wrote to Ephesians church: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.
Give attention to the last line of the verse ‘ and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. Why did Paul include that line? He meant this epistle is not just for the Christians at Ephesus but also for all the faithful in Christ Jesus, all committed Christians, all serious Christians.
Paul meant this epistle is a message, a counsel, instructions to all Christians.
Look at verse 3 of chapter 1: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. NLT. Paul needed to bring to our consciousness the fact that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, take note of the word ‘ EVERY ‘ not just few blessings or some blessings but every spiritual blessing has God given to the saints.
That same verse tells us why we are that blessed: because we are united with Christ. As we remain in Christ we continue to enjoy those spiritual blessings.
Being in Christ qualifies us to enjoying all spiritual blessings. Our relationship with Christ is not just for relationship sake; it entitles us to all spiritual blessings. Every faithful Christian is a blessed person and because the spiritual controls the physical; access to spiritual blessings engenders possession of physical and materials blessings.
Our duty is to ensure we remain in Christ. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, help me to remain with Christ .
* Help me not to lose my faith in Jesus name.
