Topic: THE FAITH OF THE CENTURION …part 6.
Text: Matthew 8:10.13.
10: When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
13: And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
Acts of faith by the Centurion have been the focus since we started the series. Let’s press a little further, as I share deep insight here.
Many people exercise faith at one point or the other, but when result was not forth coming the way they expected it the lost faith. Believing something and experiencing something else, in fact, sometimes the opposite of what one believes and expects, has damaged many people’s believe system.
I am sharing from experience and I have some characters in the Bible who experience the same, but our persistence brought a turn around of the situation in our favour.
Continuous exercise of faith without getting desired results can make one lose hope, but a little press in the acts of faith will bring our desired results. It is important you make conscious effort to ensure unanswered prayers do not damage your faith.
The woman with the issue of blood is a good example here, read what the Bible says about her in Mark 5:26: And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. This woman made several failed attempts, yet she didn’t allow those experiences damage her believe system.
It is possible that because you have had several failed attempts in the past you don’t believe anything anymore. The woman with the issue of blood wasn’t like that, when she heard about Jesus she forgot her past failed attempts.
Your perspective about events and circumstances goes a long way in determining whether you keep faith or not. The woman with the issue of blood could have concluded that her case is hopeless since she had tried many doctors and sold all that she had, rather, she concluded that she had been meeting wrong people who didn’t have solution to her problem, and now this man called Jesus must be the person that can solve my problem.
Her faith was intact despite all she has been through, and virtue (grace) was released from Jesus to her.
Don’t allow any experience, no matter how terrible, damage your faith. Keep it intact, your miracle is on the way. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I put behind me negative experiences, my faith is intact for a miracle.
* As we wait upon the Lord, today trust Him for a miracle.
