Topic: THE HOUSE OF GOD…Part 4
Text: Psalms 122:1KJV

1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

In part three, we discussed that the house of God is the house of praise. Today we want to discuss the house of God as God’s dwelling place.

The house of God as the name implies is God’s dwelling place here on earth. God of course is big and so mighty that he made the heavens his throne and the earth his footstool yet he still dwells in his temple according to the scriptures.

In Isaiah 66:1 God was asking the people where is the house built for his as his place of rest

"Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?"

Also in 2nd Chronicles 7:1-2, after Solomon built a house for God, God came down in his glory into the temple built for him

"Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house. And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house."

God sees his house as his dwelling place and his place of rest here on earth basically for his children to meet him there, that is it is the meeting point of the of the natural with the supernatural for transformation and blessings. But many of his children do not see God’s house as he sees it, many see it mainly as a place to meet and make friends, some sees as a place to meet a servant of God and not God himself, very many see it as a place to just meet their life parners, some see it as a place to meet and make business partners. Some dont even like to go to church at all, they claim God is in their heart and that God is everywhere even when the scripture admonishes that we should not forsake the assemblies of God’s people (Hebrews 10:25).

Beloved, the house of God is God’s dwelling place to meet with his people, so dont despise God’s house, rather be glad like David who said i was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. God bless you

* Father, help me to go to church with right motive and let me not go their in vain in Jesus Name.
