Topic: DELIVERING YOUR MANDATE.
Text : 2 Timothy 4:7.
7: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
Just like Apostle Paul everyone of us has a course, an assignment, a purpose. He wrote Timothy not only to affirm his fulfilment but also to orientate him about how he finished the course. I kept faith, I have fought a good fight.
He has a mandate, a divine mandate on his life, everyone of us has. Some people think they are just here to live, eat, have children, built houses etc. No sir/ ma everyone is made with a specific purpose.
Paul wanting Timothy to know how much effort he put into fulfilling his destiny chose the word ‘ fight ‘ to narrate his experience. I see Paul saying it wasn’t easy at all, it was a fight, it was a good one because I refused to be conquered. The story would have been different if he had died in the process or lost his faith.
Paul wasn’t scared of death rather was conscious of not losing his faith. Many people arrived at destiny but not with the faith they started with, they lost their faith in the process of attaining their dreams.
Three things worthy of note here:
1, The fight.
2, The course that is the mandate.
3, The faith.
Fighting is the struggle, contending with the forces that want to make you a failure rather than fulfilling your destiny. It is not a physical combat, it is more of mental and spiritual. I will like to emphasize MENTAL FIGHT here, this is not spiritual, but the battle in the mind, the mind is your seat of reasoning, the things we go through every day have potentials to discourage our mind.
Some people also aim at discouraging you, challenges of each day have potentials to discourage you, you have to fight them as stay on course focused. No matter what comes your way refuse to be discouraged.
Don’t allow anything or anyone to discourage you, be focused and keep faith alive. God bless you.
