Topic: ENDLESS LIFE; THE TRANSITION
Text: Psalms 90:10-12KJV
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Life exist in different phases or levels, one of the phases of life is life on the earth. Life on earth is not forever, it is not an endless life because it has a time it begins and has a time it ends. Ecclesiastes 3:2 brings it out in clear words saying
"A time to be born, and a time to die…."
We want to focus for now on these times mentioned in the above scripture.
* TIME OF BIRTH: Everyone on earth is conscious of the time of birth, its quite easy to understand why it is so, this is simply because its a time of celebration, joy and rejoicing. Parents (father, mother, grand parents e.t.c), relatives, family friends are all conscious about the time of birth as they wait anxiously for the arrival of the new baby. Man himself is conscious of his time of birth as he gathers friends to celebrate his birthday every 365days. God is conscious of the time of birth because heaven rejoices that a rare gem is born to fulfill God’s purpose on earth. The devil is also conscious of the time of birth because he is sad that God has sent a man to fulfil destiny to the glory of his Maker and to the shame of the devil.
Beloved, have got few questions for you as i round off today’s devotional
* Are your parents, relatives, friends still happy about your time of birth? Because many have caused their parents, family and friends so much pain that they wished they were never born.
* Is God still happy about your time of birth? Because many lives in such ways that heaven regrets and consider them waste of investment
* Is devil still sad about your time of birth? Because many lives pleasing the devil with their sinful lives and displeasing their Maker.
What about you, are you still conscious about your time of birth? Of course I know its a yes, but is it to the glory of God or the devil? Is it for the good of the people around you or for their sorrow and oppression. Think on these things. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, teach me to number my days that i may apply my heart unto wisdom.
