PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
22nd April, 2021.
Topic: THE FAITH OF THE CENTURION …part 4.
Text: Matthew 8:10.

10: When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
13: And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus marvelled at the action of faith taken by the Centurion and that calls for attention. If Jesus can marvel at something, then, it must definitely be of great importance.

To know the character of God you must give attention to his actions and reactions to events and circumstances. The Centurion’s faith was a pleasant surprise to Jesus, his reactions to the Centurion’s action of faith is the focus of this teaching.

Hear what he told the Centurion in verse 13 … as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.. What does this statement mean? I see Jesus saying, ‘ I am not the determinant here, but your faith ‘. Some people think that it is God that determines miracles. This is not the only passage Jesus spoke like this and anytime he says that he meant your faith is what triggered the miracle.

I see Jesus saying that I can’t do much without your faith. Someone may want to ask: why is Pastor Yemi over logging this? Let me give you two scriptural passages to buttress my point here;
Mark 13:58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God is a source from which blessings flow, lt is like electric source, you have to plug in to connect to get current, it takes faith to connect to God. Exercise of faith leads to experience of miracle.

Let me analyse the words of Jesus, ‘ as thou has believed, so be it done unto you ‘, take note of the word ‘ as ‘, it connotes the measure of your faith, it means there are measurements of faith, little and great faith.

Our miracles are delivered according to the measure of our faith. ‘ As thou as believed, so be it done unto you ‘ it means not just what you believe, but with what measure of faith, little or great, do you believe? How you believe is what Jesus was emphasizing in our passage.

Raising your faith level is rising to the realm of the miraculous. Come up with great faith to experience great things. In the next part I will focus on OUR BELIEVE SYSTEM. God bless you.

PRAYER.
* Lord, make my faith great.
