PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
5th March, 2021
Topic: SHARING YOUR LIFE WITH OTHERS.
Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:8.
8: We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.
9: Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you. NLT.
Paul in his letter to the Thessalonians explained how he and other Christian brethren with him shared their lives with the Thessalonians.
What did he mean when he said we shared our lives with you? They were not were in Thessalonia to preach alone, but also to share their lives with them.
Preaching and counselling alone may not change people, sharing our lives with them will humble them. It is actually not what is preached that changes people it is what practiced.
Sharing our lives is sacrificing for others, going out of our way to help others. Inconvenienting yourself sometimes to ensure someone is saved or helped. There is a caution here; read my statements carefully, the sacrifice you make is not to please people, but to save someone in need.
This is like saying sharing part of your enjoyment with those who lack enjoyment, sharing your wealth with the poor, using your wisdom to help the fool, using your knowledge to assist the illiterates. It is basically being a blessing to others.
Sharing your life with others people who are not your family members, sharing comfort with those whose lives are hurting.
In your pursuit of greater heights, greater wealth and more comfort please remember that there are many people who need your help. Do share with them and great will be your reward in Jesus name.
* Help me Lord to be able to share my life with others.
