Topic: ENGAGING YOUR MIND…part 2.
Text: Roman 12:2.
2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Many people miss it in life because of the way they use their mind. Many times, people think it is devil that is hurting them not knowing is the use of their mind.
Your mind is the seat of decision of the matters of your life. As an adult you are responsible for the choice you make. You don’t blame others when things don’t go well, they are products of the decisions you have made over time.
Nothing actually influences your life like the use of your mind. I can’t overemphasize the importance of the human mind.
Can I shock you? The human mind makes human beings superior to all other creatures including angels and spirits. The mind God gave man is a creative one like his.
This will also shock you; God didn’t finish the creation of things useful to man in the world, he left it at a stage man with his mind can explore with innovative ideas that will transform his world. A typical example is the innovative ideas of science and technology that transforms our world.
Let me do a quick one here, I just want to explain our text: look at this; be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, this is simple enough to understand. As you renew your mind through acquisition of knowledge and rightly apply it to your life, your life will be transformed.
Our text is saying is something important that we must give serious attention. Renewal of your mind helps you prove what is good, acceptable and perfect will of God. These are three different things.
What is good might not be acceptable, what is acceptable might not be the perfect will of God for you.
Not every good thing is acceptable for your destiny, and not everything that is acceptable is the perfect will of God for your life. When your mind is renewed it flows into taking decisions that will land you in the perfect will of God. In the next part I will explain engaging your mind in spiritual things.
