Topic: PROSPERITY FOR THE SOUL
Text: III John 1:2KJV
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Prosperity is defined as success or the state of success, especially financial or material success. It is the condition of being successful or thriving; especially : economic well-being. When we talk about prosperity what primarily comes to mind is finance. Financial prosperity is a major factor used to measure how prosperous an individual is, in other words the economic success of a person is a largely a scale to measure the state of his prosperity.
As good as prosperity is, not all are meant for the goodness of the soul. There are prosperity that are detrimental for the soul of anyone. From our text above Paul wished above all things that you and I be prosperous in a way that prospers our soul. It is important you understand that your soul is important to God for salvation just as its important to the devil for destruction.
As God’s children, the prosperity that preserves your soul, the prosperity that brings and leads to ultimate salvation, is the prosperity from God through Christ Jesus according to 2nd Corinthians 8:9
"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
Proverbs 10:22 put it very clear words saying
"22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."
God’s blessings bring prosperity that flourish the soul, it brings peace with it and have no element of sorrow or regret. Beloved, if you are ever seeking for blessings in life, seek for God’s blessings, dont pursue after worldly kind of blessings or the blessings that the devil offers. If it is God’s blessing, you can be sure its a blessing with peace and that is prosperous to your soul. God bless you
* Father, let your blessings that is prosperous to my soul locate me today in Jesus Name
