Topic: HANDLING MISTAKES …part 5.
(Marriage Mistakes).
Text : Genesis 3:15, 16.
15: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel.
16: To the woman He said, I will greatly multiply your grief and your suffering in pregnancy and the pangs of childbearing; with spasms of distress you will bring forth children. Yet your desire and craving will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. Amplified.
As wait I upon the Lord on what to write on the subject ‘ HANDLING MISTAKES ‘, he keeps unraveling mysteries, great revelation by his Spirit.
The focus here is handling marital mistakes and I am shock at the mystery he just unravelled for me to share.
Let’s look at how God dealt with the serpent, Eve and Adam. Three of them were instrumental to the fall of man.
God brought emnity between the serpent and the woman, among other pronouncements on it. The serpent was cursed among all animals. Serpent and man will no longer be friends.
Eve was also cursed, what shocked me is this; the spell further connects the woman to man. I see God saying to Eve, ‘ you will not be able to live without Adam ‘, look at it in verse 16 ..with spasms of distress you will bring forth children. Yet your desire and craving will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. God was saying, ‘ you will always love your husband no matter what ‘.
One would have expected that God will separate them and make them enemies of each other, rather he bounded them further in love. They were in pains yet they were in love, they were loving in pains. They were living a cursed life yet they were in love. Eve was giving birth pains yet, he kept allowing Adam to pregnant her. Adam was struggling to meet daily needs yet he kept having children.
I will link this with the statement of Jesus in Matthew 19:8 He said to them, Because of the hardness (stubbornness and perversity) of your hearts Moses permitted you to dismiss and repudiate and divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been so [ordained]. Amplified. What God chose is that a woman should always have affection for her husband, so, he bounded them with love. Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees that God never planned divorce. What did was to bind them together in love.
Anywhere you see husband and wife not living in harmony it is the work of the devil, it was not so from the beginning. Crisis in every marriage is initiated by the disappearance of love. It is not because of money, of course, you must have seen wealthy couples breaking up, where you will see another couple in abject poverty madly in love.
Some people say its childlessness, that can’t be true, there are many barren couples who never broke up.
Jesus said, ‘ …but from the beginning in has not been so ‘. For every broken home the devil succeeded in stealing the love that was meant to make them stronger, but not without the consent of the couple.
When the wife is saying, ‘ I can’t take nonsense ‘, and man is also saying, ‘ enough of your stupidity in this house ‘, they are simply tearing the love apart. It was not so ordained from the beginning.
You have to give all diligence to ensure the love God sowed between you and your spouse grow stronger daily, that’s your responsibility not God’s. I have to pause here for now. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, let my love for my spouse grow stronger daily.
