Topic: HANDLING MISTAKES ….part 3.
Text : 1 Chronicles 4:9,10.
9: Jabez was honorable above his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], saying, Because I bore him in pain.
10: Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request. Amplified.
All that God made his perfect. God does not do evil, God does good while devil does evil. Devil simply means d-evil meaning the evil.
Man many times, Through his decisions, enters into the traps of the devil. Some parents have made mistakes that is telling on their children. Some pronouced curses out of anger and put their children in bondage like the character in our passage.
Some mistakes can only be corrected by prayer. Let me say here that your life is precious in the sight of God, he can’t afford to see you live your life in error.
God is caring, merciful, loving he wants a good life for you. Hear what Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Amplified.
When you come to him through prayer he corrects the errors in your life. He makes things right again.
Jabez life’s was hurting because of the pronouncement of his mum on his life via his name.
In verse 10 of our passage Jabez took step to reverse the mistake in his life and God answered. Look at it here: Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.
It was a cry for reversal of spell on his life, a reversal of mistake of his mother hurting his life, see the kindness of God in the same verse; …And God granted his request. He will grant your request also in Jesus name. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, tell him to reverse the impact of mistakes on your life.
