Topic: A MADE-UP MIND part 5.
Text: James 1:6-8.
6: But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7: For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
The focus here is how the mind affects answers to prayer. Your mind plays major role in the place of prayer. The intensity of the engagement of your mind in prayer determines answer to prayer.
Faith is conceived in the mind, your faith must not be wavering. When we trust God in our mind, he shows up physically through his acts. It therefore means that activities in my mind determine God’s acts in my life.
If faith is conceived in my mind, God’s acts will be inevitable in my life. I can bring his hand to work in my life by faith in my mind.
If I have no double mind, if I doubt not in my mind, his hand will be visible in my life. Verse 7 of our passage is explicit about this: For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. Talking about the man with wavering faith.
Verse 8 hit the nail on the head: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. I have said repeatedly that your state of mind determines your state in life. Verse 8 Just buttressed it. Instability in mind is instability in life. If you want stability and consistent growth in life your mind must be stabilized with faith that God can do what he promised. God bless you.
PRAYER
* As we wait upon the Lord today, ask by faith what you want him to do for you.
