Topic: WHAT THE LORD REQUIRED OF THEE.
Text: Micah 6:8.
8: He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
We approached the new year praying and trusting God for a prosperous year, we continue to ask the Lord to bless the year for us, but it is absolutely important we find out what the Lord is asking of us this year.
Why will he allow us witness another year? We are not just granted life, we are granted life for specific reasons. Our text is explicit about why God will allow us witness another year:
1, To do justly, live rightly, live in righteousness, doing what is right, abstaining from sin, it is 365 days of making our lives right with him. 365 days of making amends of our past mistakes and lifestyles. If your ways have been dubious, you’ve got another 365 to put your record straight before God.
God knows that if you die now or before now you will not make it to heaven rather hell, out of his love he is giving you opportunity to find yourself a place with him in eternity. He is expecting you to do what is right. If you are not born again please give your life to Christ before it is too late.
You may claim you are a Christian, but you know you can’t make it to heaven, it is time to make your way right with God. Let me stop here for now.
PRAYER.
* Invite Jesus into your life accept him as your Lord and saviour.
* Ask God for grace to live right.
