PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
19th November 2020
Topic: WHEN MERCY SPEAKS…Part 14
Text: Romans 9:15KJV

15 he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion

In part 13, we discussed that the only escape route to the judgement of God is to cry unto him for mercy peradventure he may show mercy because he alone, not any man, nor spirit or angel can reverse the judgement he had pronounced upon any life, people or nation.

Today we want to discuss that it is rather better not to fall into God’s judgement than to seek for way out when under the judgement of God, just as it’s been said that prevention is better than cure, Why? Because it is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God according to Hebrews 10:30. How fearful? So fearful because God said he will have mercy on whom he will have mercy and he will have compassion on whom he will have mercy according to Romans 9:15. Lets consider some scriptural instances for references

* When of the Israelites murmured against Moses in Numbers 13 by the virtue of the evil report brought by the spies Moses sent to Canaan land, God was angry and was set to instantly destroy the entire nation of Israel but Moses pleaded and God choose to show mercy. Though God changed his mind from bringing instant destruction upon Israelites, yet he told Moses all the generation that murmured will not get to the promise land, that they would all die in the wilderness. (The extent of his mercy is by his choice)

* Great was Moses relationship with God from the time God called him to deliver Israel from slavery, God was with Moses so great that even when Aaron and Miriam spoke against him, God defended him according to Numbers 12. But when Moses despised God’s command out of anger in Numbers 20, God ended Moses ministry instructing him to anoint Joshua in his place, God also told him that he will not get to the promise land, though he pleaded but God did not change his mind.

Dearly beloved, how God will show mercy and to what extent is solely by his choice, but it would have been far better never to fall into God’s judgement than to fall and be seeking for a way out. Think on these things, God bless you.

PRAYER:
* Father, help me not to fall into your judgement in my walk with you in the Mighty Name of Jesus
