In part 11, we discussed that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God according to Hebrews 10:30 using the story of Moses in Numbers 20 as a case study. Today i just want to share a story with you to further emphasize that beyond bible characters and beyond the dispensation of the law, it is a fearful thing to fall into the judgement of God even in this dispensation of grace.
This story was told by one of my fathers in the faith. A close friend brought a terribly sick woman to him, as he saw the woman, God told him not to waste his time, that the woman would not survive the illness, but he was not willing to take “No” for an answer, and so he went to the altar to pray to God for mercy and as he prayed, he felt the anointing of God, but as he laid his hand on the woman’s head, the anointing bounced backed, just as if the woman head was a stone that refused the passage of the healing anointing. He repeated it again and again but the result was the same. Eventually when he knew God meant what he told him earlier, he asked God why will he not show mercy upon the woman, God replied that the woman has been adamant and had refused to hearken to several warning of repentance he had given unto her.
Beloved, when God pronounce his judgement upon anyone, he alone can reverse the judgement if he chooses to show mercy, but if God refused to show mercy then that judgement is final without remedy, and so once again it is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God.

* Father, never let your mercy over my life become expired in Jesus Name.
