Topic: NOT WILLING TO SERVE…Part 2
Text: Matthew 15:8-9KJV
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
Willingness is defined as the quality or state of being prepared to do something. It is the readiness to be committed to and carry out a task
In part 1, we discuss that many desire and are willing to receive blessings from God but are not willing to serve God. Today we want to describe these set of people in different categories.
* The first category of those not willing to serve are people who know that God exist, they know that God can do all thing including blessing a man. They want God to bless them, they want God to transform their lives in any way he can but they do not want to know him personally or have any relationship with God. They are not willing to go to church at all for any service. They want to live their life to the full, they want to enjoy all the pleasures of this world and still want God to bless the labour of their hand.
* The second category like the first also know that God exist and he can do all things. They seek God’s blessings and are wiling always to receive from God. Unlike the first category, this second category go to church especially on Sundays and on special programs. They believe in prayer, they believe in miracles, they believe in God’s promises, they believe the power of his words and they believe the words of his prophet but they don’t want any further commitment with God beyond praying to him to solve their issues. They are not ready for any relationship with God nor any commitment to his work or service. They only remember God when in need or in challenges, when there is no money they run to God, when trouble comes their way, they seek God’s intervention, when in need of children they remember God but as soon as God answer them, they withdraw from him.
Dearly beloved, from our scriptural text above, God is not interested in those who are willing to receive from him but not willing to serve him, he does not want those who honour with their mouth but their heart is far away, rather he want those who are ready to serve him. Are you ready?

* Father, make me ready to serve you all the days of my life
