Topic: WHEN MERCY SPEAKS…Part 7
Text: Romans 9:15KJV

15 he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion

In part 6, we discussed about judgement, that judgement speaks when sin and the devil speak

One of the definition of judgement that suit our purpose of discussion is that judgement is a misfortune or calamity viewed as a divine punishment. Just as mercy speaks, judgement also speak, infact mercy speaks because judgement is speaking, the voice of mercy is heard, to silent the voice of judgement.

Today we want to discuss one important personality that can also make judgement to speak over a life and that is God

Mobile Category

Judgement could be roaming over a life because God speaks it. God is full of mercy, but as merciful as he is, he does get angry and also displays his wrath. The Bible calls him the consumable fire, Hebrews 10: 30-31 said it is a fearful thing to fall into God’s hand.

“30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

One of the Bible reference where God spoke judgement is 2 Samuel 12:7-12

“7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 8 And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. 9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.11 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.”

From the scriptural passage above, the actions of king David (his sin of adultery Uriah’s wife and murder of Uriah), prọvoked God to pronounce Judgement upon him and his household and every of those judgement came ti fulfilment just as God said through Prophet Nathan.

Beloved, Judgement speaks when God pronounce it upon any life or people and it is fearful to provoke God’s anger because there will be no hidden place for such a fellow. God bless you
