Text: Lamentations 3:22-26.

22: It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23: They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

One good thing I have done to myself is to seek God. I have learnt from my teenages to seek God through his word, and I have found the Bible interesting.

Studying the Bible to me has been like licking honey, Ezekiel 3:3 confirms this, look at it here: And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

Take a look at our passage, we sing it as song, but many people don’t really understand the mystery behind it. God’s mercies are new every morning, what does this actually mean?

Let me come out this way: this is like when a poor man gets the favour of a rich man daily, and the rich man is not tired of helping him. God shows us mercies everyday, this is like you meeting the needs of your children daily.

When you look at children even the ones that are not yours, you look with compassion and love, only a wicked person watches a child crying and won’t attend to it. It is with such compassion that God looks at us everyday.

It will shock you to know that even a terrible sinner is looked with compassion by God, God looks at some people we condemn with compassion. He looks at an robber with compassion, a prostitute with compassion, a cultist with compassion how much more we his children?

The interesting thing here is that God’s mercies are new every morning, at the dawn of every new day.

This is what it means; there is new mercy for each new day, the mercy for today is not looking like that of yesterday, it is new for every new day.

It is important you know that all blessings are products of his mercies so, if his mercies are new every morning then we should expect new blessings everyday. See beloved, if you are going to see God’s promises come to fulfilment in your life you must believe it as it is written.

There is difference between looking with compassion and showing compassion, It is possible I look with compassion and not show it in act most likely because I don’t have what is takes to assist the person I look with compassion.

Placing yourself at the place where you can receive mercy is an assignment you must take serious. If you are a sinner you need to repent of your sins to receive the mercies of God.

As child of God live your life based on the word of God and position yourself at the place of his mercies every morning before you step out, observe your quiet time with God. God bless you.

* I receive your mercies for every new day.
