PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
6th September 2020
Topic: COMMITTED TO SERVE…Part 4
Text: Joshua 24:15KJV

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Commitment is the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc. It also means a pledge or undertaking towards a cause. Service to God without any doubt requires commitment. God loves commitment because he himself is committed.

In part three we discussed that the Apostles were committed to God’s service as they were taught by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was equally very committed to his Father’s business while on the earth.

Now it’s our time and it’s our turn to be committed to God’s business. We can’t afford to fail God or disappoint our Maker. Two reasons why we must be committed:

Mobile Category

* IT IS A MUST: In the matters of the kingdom business, commitment is paramount, I mean the role of commitment in getting the work of God done cannot be over emphasized. This was clearly evident all through the ministry of Jesus on earth and reflected in his words, acts and mode of discipleship. Some of the words are:

John 5:17 Jesus said “But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”

John 9:4 Jesus said “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work. must.”

When Jesus left this world and the disciples he committed his Father’s business unto, out of fear abandoned the work and went back into their fishing business, Jesus appeared unto them and said to Peter their leader three times to feed his lamb according to John 21:15-17

“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.”

The kingdom business is a must to be carried out, likewise it is a must to be committed to get the service done.

* THERE IS NO EXCUSE: You have no excuse if you fail, because you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses according to Hebrew 12:1 which says

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”

Our fathers of old were deeply committed and passionate about the kingdom business as we learnt in part 3 of this series. So there will be no acceptable excuse for failure because our fathers of old, the early Apostles are great cloud of witnesses who will testify that what you count as excuse was what they went through in their own time even worse than that yet the did not fail God, they were committed and they made it. Beloved, there is no excuse tenable enough to fail God. God bless you

PRAYER:
* Father, give me unquenchable passion for your work in Jesus Name
