PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
26th August 2020.
Topic: UNDERSTANDING REVELATIONS.
Text: Deuteronomy 29:29.
29: “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions. NLT
The word ‘ revelation ‘ is from the word ‘ reveal ‘ meaning make visible, make known, or disclose directly. When we mention the word it sounds big to some people, it is basically an English word, but what makes it special is the information that is revealed.
New Living Translation will help me explain this topic better, let me start by saying that as a father does reveal vital information to his children so does God to us. An elderly person sees farther than a child, God is not just the oldest of all personalities, he is the omniscience, that is the all knowing God, he sees the end from the beginning.
He does communicate to us, and one of the ways is by Revelation; revealing deep things. Look at this Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand). Amplified. Please note ‘ GREAT and MIGHTY things ‘ in the passage.
Sometimes, revelation comes to reveal what God is set to do, at other times what the devil is set to do, at another reveals the consequences of an action that is about to be taken.
From experience when you share good revelation with people, they are happy, but when you share the one that is unpleasant they feel bad and probably not believe it. The truth is that the ones that appear bad are more necessary than the ones that are good; this is because;
1, They are precautions.
2, They are meant to give you prayer points.
3, God is simply revealing the plans of the devil.
Let me give you examples you can relate with; God has revealed to me on several occasions untimely death planned for some people, we prayed and it was averted, they are still alive till date, but some people die untimely without any revelation of caution. Which is better? To see and avert, or not to see and it occurred.
God reveals to us as we stay in his presence, and attimes reveals to people around us to inform us.
It is alarming to see some people play around divine information, some don’t do anything about revelations, some believe when it happens, and begin to find solutions to problems that could have been averted, some don’t believe at all, what shocks me is our text in New Living Translation Deuteronomy 29:29 “… but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, ...” this means since God has given you warning by revealing what you need to know, you are accountable for the revelation and whatever happens thereafter.
To get a revelation is divine intervention, it is a way of telling you how God is committed to guiding you in life. I will expatiate in part 2, let me say this as I tidy up here, you can know the authenticity of a revelation by it source;
- If you are good at hearing God, maybe by vision, dream, study of the Bible, word of knowledge, and prophesy, it is a bless to you and people around you, I strongly advise you don’t handle with levity whatever is revealed to you, it is a precious information.
-
When someone shares a revelation with you, check his or her relationship with God.
-
Pray against any evil revelation either from a genuine person or a fake prophet to be on the safe side.
God bless you.
PRAYER.
* It is another day to wait upon the Lord tell him; show me Lord, great and mighty things which I know not.
