Topic: OVERCOMING BY TESTIMONY..part4
Text: Psalms 107:8,9.
8: Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9: For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
When challenges come the probability of forgetting what God has done in past is high.
The human nature is prone to reacting to the circumstances and issues around, it is like feeling you have never eaten before when you are seriously hungry, feeling like you have never had money when you are broke, feeling like you were never strong when you are sick.
It is important we understand that challenges come with feelings, and it is always bad feelings.
It takes a disciplined person to appreciate God in his or her time of challenges. When you are feeling down the way up is to remember the goodness of the Lord. Remembering what he has done in the past helps you to get out of the unpleasant feelings.
Always keep in your this consciousness; God cannot leave me to suffering. He has been God for ages past, he will always bring you out of challenges.
Keep speaking of his goodness in the past and since he is unchanging God he will continually show you his goodness. Let me touch a scripture to buttress this: Psalms 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. The Psalmist knew it is possible for his soul to forget all the things God has done when challenges come, so he said, ‘. forget not all his benefits ‘, like the Psalmist we must always talk to our souls, in the midst of challenges, keep telling your soul not to forget the things God has done, as you remind yourself of those things you are building assurance of victory over your present challenge.
