Topic: WHEN THERE IS NO ONE
Text: John 5:5-8KJV

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

In life no man is an island, everyone at one point or the other needs help from someone else. We are important to each other, we are created to complement one another, God made us to be of help to one another, the rich are there to help the poor, the strong are there to help the weak, those healthy are meant to help the sick.

In Mark 2, there was a man who was sick of palsy, and needed Jesus attention for healing, he needed to be in the synagogue where Jesus was teaching, the man was sick and obviously couldn’t help himself, but thanks to God that he had four friends who shared in his plight, four friends who were ready both physically (their action) and spiritually (their faith) to help, and they did help the sick man to get into the synagogue where Jesus could reach out to him for healing. So that man sick of palsy had help and he got his healing.

But there was a man, from our scriptural text above, who was sick for 38 years and waited for a very long time at the pool of Bethesda without an help. The man wished he had help because each time an angel of God troubled the water, someone else gets into the water before him. But when there was no one to help, the mercies of God located him and sustained him, he received divine visitation from above, Jesus himself who is the very present help located him and healed him of his long time disease.
