Topic: GOD’S HANDIWORK….Part 4
Text: Jeremiah 32:17KJV
17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee
Handiwork is simply defined as the work done by hand or a product of a person’s effort and action. Other words for handiwork are creation, design, workmanship, doing, invention e.t.c.
In part three, we discussed that God handiwork are made for his purpose and that it’s wise for everyone to seek to discover God’s purpose for his/her life.
Today, we want to discuss one of the purposes of God’s handiwork is to glorify him. We said in part three that no manufacturer makes a product without a purpose at the back of his mind, now when the product is fulfilling the purpose of the manufacturer, the manufacturer feels happy, pleased and fulfilled, likewise God is pleased when his handiwork is glorifying him.
The fishes in the ocean glorify God, how? As they swim in the ocean, they display the creative power of God, and so God is gloried. The birds in the air make melodious sounds and fly high in the air showing off the power and abiility of God in them. What about the flowers of the field?, They glorify God through the display of their beautiful flowers, and through the production of their fruit for feeding of man and animal. The trees in the field also clap their hands when the wind blow giving glorify to God.
Man as God’s handiwork is not left out of his duty to glorify. If God had made you a fish, you would glorify him swimming in the ocean, if he had made you a tree you would glorify him clapping your branches, now God made you a man, in his own image, higher than all other creatures, this is an indication that you must glorify God more than all other handiwork of God. Let everything about you glorify him, your mouth sings his praise, your legs walking in his ways, your hands clapping to him and doing his work, your ears listening to his instructions, your heart and mind meditating upon his words. Your life, your work/business, your home e.t.c must give glory to God, it is your purpose of existence in life. God bless you
