Topic: ENCOUNTERING THE SUPERNATURAL.
Text: Jeremiah 29:13,14.
13:And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
14: And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
The word ‘ SUPERNATURAL‘ is the combination of two words SUPER and NATURAL. It simply means above the natural.
Natural things and issues are just normal things, things operating by nature. The natural level of living are products of natural activities. At this level a man lives his life based on the things he knows to get his expectations met.
Some circumstances and situations obey the natural laws of operation while some never.
Academics knowledge can only solve natural problems or challenges. Science and technology, as good as they are, can only solve problems of nature.
The Supernatural is beyond academic knowledge, scientific facts and proofs. They all have limitations in the affairs of men.
It will shock you to know that man was not meant to be natural, how do I know? God made man in his image, and God is supernatural. When God told Adam and Eve in Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. God was simply telling them that when they eat the fruit they will die in the supernatural realm, and that’s exactly what happened.
Anytime a man begins to connect to God, seek God, and desiring his presence he is on his way to encountering the Supernatural.
The goodnews is that God is willing to reveal himself to such a man. Look at verse 14 of our passage; ‘..I will be found by you, says the Lord…’ this sounds like God is missing in someone’s life and the person is trying to locate him again.
This is the problem with many Christians; the assumption that God is with them while God has left, they reason like Samson, they lost their spiritual exercises and virtues. No more fasting and prayer like before, holiness now zero, evangelism now a burden. They assume God is still with them instead of seeking God so that he can turn things around for them.
Assumption kills faster than the death does it is important we check for God’s presence always, be sure he has not left you. Please note that presence of challenges is not the absence of God, though sometimes it is a true description of things.
You can always check for God’s presence in the place of prayer. If you truly pray you will feel his presence. That’s what he meant when he said, ‘ I shall be found of you ‘, please handle the matter like you have lost God’s presence and you need to get it back, and when you encounter him the supernatural will become a reality in your life. * Lord, I need encounter with the Supernatural in Jesus name.
