Topic: GOD’S HANDIWORK
Text: Jeremiah 32:17KJV
17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee
Handiwork is simply defined as the work done by hand or a product of a person’s effort and action. Another words for handiwork are creation, design, workmanship, doing, invention e.t.c.
From our scriptural text above, God made the heaven and earth by his great power and out-stretched arm, it means the heaven and the earth are his handiwork. Psalms 24:1 says the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein. It means everything you see around you including you, are God’s handiwork, invention, design and workmanship and you are a product of God’s effort and action
The point I want to emphasize today is that God knows the works of his hand, Acts 15:18 stated this clearly that
known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
So God knows you, he knows your name, he knows what you were, what you are and what you will be, he knows your issues and challenges, he knows your thought, he knows your family and background, he knows your works, he knows what you are going through and he knows exactly what he will do to help you. This understanding is very important for you as God’s handiwork so that you can rely and trust in him. Many times we struggle and labour without any meaningful result because we failed to realise that we cannot prevail by our strength, we failed to understand that it is God that blesses without sorrow. Don’t get me wrong, working hard and making effort to have a pleasant life is very good but when it’s done without recognising the role of your maker it can be frustrating, fruitless and result in labour loss. You are God’s handiwork, and God knows you, even before your existence. So it’s wisdom to surrender your all to him, not to hide anything from him who knows you and can help you. God bless you
