Text: Psalms 34:1-3KJV
1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
In part two, we said praising God according to the words of David in our text above should be a function of your existence in life (that you are alive) and not your experience in life (circumstances and situations). In other words you are meant to praise God all the days of your life because you are among the living and not among the dead. As it is often said only the living can praise God, the dead cannot.
The Psalmist advice in Psalms 150:6 saying
Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord.
It is important to note that other hand works of God yield to this advice except man; the birds of the air sing unto Him, the trees of the field clap their hands, even the mountains bow and the seas roar at the sound of his name. Now if these things praise God at all times what excuse have you got not to praise him at all times
The heavenly bodies which comprises of the angels, the twenty four elders and the beast praise God continually without a break, they sing holy holy is the Lord God Almighty, the whole earth is filled with his glory. Am sure you desire to be with God in heaven, and so how best are you prepared to praise him like the heavenly bodies do?.
Beloved, the scripture that says “let everything that has breathe praise the Lord” does not exempt you, and if you David further committed himself saying “I will bless the Lord at all times” then why not you? Praise God at all times, praise him continually because it takes only the living to praise God, the dead cannot, and so anyone alive but refuses to praise God is not different from the dead, don’t be found wanted in this. God bless you.
