PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
21st July 2020
Topic: THE POOR Part 3
Text: Luke 16: 19-22 KJV

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

We want to continue our series on the poor from where we ended before we started 20 days of Spectacular Acts. Glory to God for the impact and testimonies of the 20 days of Spectacular Acts.

There are different categories of the poor and one of such categories are those who are poor because they do not know God. From our scriptural text above, the story of the rich man and a beggar called Lazarus. The rich man was wealthy on earth but when he died he realised he was very poor because he did not know his maker. On the other hand, Lazarus who was a beggar on the earth died and was carried by angels to Abraham’s blossom.

Just like the rich man in the story above, there are many who are poor because they do not know their God, because they do not recognize Him nor do they obey Him. Some of them are either considered on earth as rich, wealthy, middle class, fairly okay or even poor but to their Maker they are poor. The rich man died before he realised he was poor and had lived a wasted life on the earth without any favourable record before God and unfortunately it was late for him to repent, it was not possible for him to return and make amends.

Beloved, are you poor or rich before your maker? your status of wealth here on earth is not a determining factor, the determining factors are; do you know God? have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? do you have treasures laid in heaven which cannot be stolen by thieves or robbers? are you obedient to God’s words? Think on these things. Remember, it is appointed unto man once to die, after death is judgement, learn from the rich, don’t make the same mistake he made, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today. God bless you.

PRAYER:
* Father, save my soul from spiritual poverty in Jesus Name.
