Topic: THE POOR….Part 2
Text: Deuteronomy 15:11
11 For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.
In part one we define the word poor as lacking sufficient money to live at a standard, considered comfortable or normal in a society. We also said according to our scriptural text, God said the poor will not cease in the land however there is a promise to God’s people that they will not be poor because God will bless them in the land which he gives unto them as stated in Deuteronomy 15:4
“However, there will be no poor among you, since the Lord will surely bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess”
Today we want to talk about the land where God has given you and that is your location. It is often said that your location determines you allocation, in other words there is a place where the allocation of God’s blessings for you is certain and so if you are not there your blessings may be limited. Let’s explain this with a simple illustration of our every day life. When it rains, people get containers to gather rain water, now there are certain positions (locations) in the house where if big containers are placed, much rain water landing on the roof of the house will be collected within few minutes but if someone places a small container in an open space (location), it may rain for hours and that container may never be filled.
So, the first thing is to know your land, your place or location in life with reference to God, because that is where the blessings of God will locate you, this however will be difficult if you cannot hear God. Isaac heard God that he should stay in Gerar, despite the famine that ravaged the land. In the end, in the midst of famine God blessed Isaac such that he became the talk of the town. So, it’s important you hear God and know exactly what he wants you to do per time, that is a great secret of prosperity.
Secondly, you must be able to completely obey God. When God speaks it may not be logical, it may not be clear what the end result will be, but as you obey step by step, things will become clearer. Therefore it’s not enough to hear God, it’s important you obey him.
Beloved, God is set to take you out of poverty, but are you where his blessings can reach you? And are you obedient to his voice. Think on these things…God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to be exactly where you want me to be blessed and give me grace to be obediebt in Jesus Name.
