Topic: I WILL ARISE.
Text: Luke 15:18.

18: I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.

Our passage is lifted from the account of the prodigal son, this was when he came to his senses, he remembered his father. Let me say that we have been so familiar with some words that we lost their real meanings.

Look at one of the dictionary meanings of the word ‘ father ‘ bring into being. In order words one who brought someone or some persons into being, someone who brought one into existence.

The mistake of the prodigal son is that he thought he can make it in life without his father, the person who brought him into existence.

His father will not deny him his right; he gave him possessions, though he was leaving his father yet, he wouldn’t punish him for that.

He didn’t understand the role of a father, he soon ran into crisis, and no one was there to take the place of his father. Look at verse 17: “ When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger..’

God is our father, he is our maker. Look at Luke 15:16. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. NLT. He didn’t know that his father was his source of wealth and well being, and his life will not take a drastic turn until he comes back to his senses. God is our father, he is the one that brought us into being, straying away from him is straying away from our well being. It is only in God we have the best, our strength and effort will avail us little, God is the source of our lives, he is the reason for our existence.

Our intimacy with God grants us access to great things he has in stock for us. But when we stray away we lose out of the things he has in stock for us.

Abstaining from sin and drawing close to him make us enjoy his grace to overcome all challenges. God bless you.
