Topic: THE BUSINESS MIND.
Text : Proverbs 22:29
29: Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
Good morning sir/ma, welcome to a new week, it’s going to be a great one for you and yours in Jesus name.
The focus here is BUSINESS/WORK, it is the economic aspect of life a man, family, society and a nation.
Let’s have 3 dictionary meanings as guide for this study;
1, A person’s occasion, work or trade.
2, A rightful concern or responsibility.
3, An immediate objective.
Let me link 1 and 3 together; your occupation must be your immediate objective, when that is done there will be no room for procrastination.
Your work must be seen as your rightful concern or responsibility.
Mind is defined as that which is responsible for one’s thoughts and feelings: the seat of faculty of reason. When your business becomes your immediate objective your mind goes into deep thinking to factor out how to go about it, you then engage in productive thoughts to achieve your objective.
Productivity begins with the mind, when the mind is dull your product will be dull, a sound mind produces sound results, your output is not just the product of your input, it is the product of the process of your input; where input is the resources you put in, and the process is how the resources are utilized, the use of your mind determines the product you get from the process.
Different women will cook the same meal differently, but the one with the delicious food is ahead of others.
The use of your mind in business gives you an edge among competitors.
Every business that crashed is a product of lost of sound mind at some point. You can only take the lead when there is right application of your mind in taking rightful responsibility in your business.
When you see your business as your rightful responsibility you will take it as a part of your life, success in business always began with the business mind, in other words, a sound mind. Money is not the first point of call, but a sound mind, no wonder Apostle Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
A sound mind is necessary for productivity in your endeavors, see beloved, a sound mind can prosper in any environment no matter how hostile it is to business as long as money exchanges hands in that environment.
Let me close this way; a sound mind is synonymous to a sound business, a sound life, and a healthy soul this is because poor performance in business brings the soul down.
A sound mind will make you diligent in your business, and eventually brings you before Kings and not mean men. God bless you.
